Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum anthelmintic (deworming) medication widely used in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic worm infections in dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and other animals. It is effective against several intestinal parasites, including roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, and certain types of tapeworms.
Fenbendazole Canada works by disrupting the parasite’s ability to absorb glucose, which is its primary source of energy. It binds to a protein called beta-tubulin, preventing the formation of microtubules—essential structures required for cell division, nutrient absorption, and other vital cellular functions. Without functional microtubules, the parasite cannot produce the energy needed to survive.
As the parasite’s energy reserves become depleted, it gradually weakens, loses its ability to grow and reproduce, and eventually dies. The dead parasites are then naturally eliminated from the animal’s body through the digestive tract.
